Early Years DSL Refresher Training for Designated Safeguarding Leads in Surrey Early Years Settings (Virtual)

This course is delivered by Surrey County Council Education Safeguarding Team and will be run as a virtual version of the above training through Microsoft Teams. This course is for Designated Safeguarding Leads in Early Years settings.
Please note: This course is for experienced Designated Safeguarding Leads and other members of the safeguarding teams in Early Years settings. This will allow you to comply with KCSiE 2020 to refresh your skills and knowledge every two years.
Participants must have completed the following courses through SSCB or an accredited provider:
SSCB Foundation Module 1: Multi Agency Safeguarding Children - Family Resilience and Family Safeguarding
SSCB Foundation Module 2: Child Protection Conferences, Plans and Core Groups
DSL new to role training from an accredited provider
Target Group: The course is for experienced staff who are appointed to the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) in Early Years Settings
Course Aim: This course is for experienced DSLs and DDSLs and it provides the required DSL update. The course will also develop the DSL and DDSLs in taking the lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection. The course will enhance knowledge and skills to enable delegates to lead a culture of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children within their education provision.
By the end of the course participants will:
• Be provided with updates relevant to their role as DSL or DDSLs
• Have developed an understanding of their responsibility in leading a safeguarding culture within their provision.
