Course Aim: To provide participants with the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills for safeguarding children and young people who may experience female genital mutilation.
By the end of the course participants will:
- Be able to identify different aspects of life style beliefs and conformities across minority ethnic communities.
- Recognise the vulnerabilities of victims of Female Genital Mutilation.
- Be aware of the practice and forms of FGM

At present parking is very limited in the school car park please use the surrounding roads where available, we recommend the side roads off Whyteleafe Road, all within 5 minutes’ walk. Please do not park in the Tandridge Trust Leisure Centre as this is for their paying members.
All areas in this building have full WIFI access, and full disabled access to include disabled toilet and male/female toilets and reception area. The kitchen offers a break out area, we also have a private office for hot desk hire (please call for prices).
Teas and coffees are available throughout the day. Bring your own lunch. Lunches can no longer be purchased at the Sports Centre on site. There is a shop a short drive away.
Please be mindful that TEP is based in a school setting close to the outdoor space where young people will congregate. You are asked therefore to remain within the TEP building apart from when accessing the training rooms and if outside for any length of time do ask for a badge from TEP. Please note, you can only use your mobile phone whilst in the TEP building and not on the school site and smoking is strictly prohibited from the entire school site.
